GRADE 3 AND 6 PROVINCIAL ASSESSMENTS

We are extremely proud to announce the excellent results of the Grade 3 and 6 literacy and numeracy assessments of 2010.

The results were as follows:

Grade 3: 98,2% of the 2010 Grade 3 children were at the appropriate Grade 3 level in literacy and 98,2% of them were also at the correct level in numeracy.

Grade 6: 100% of the 2010 Grade 6 children were at the appropriate Grade 6 level in literacy and 94.3% of them were at the appropriate Grade 6 numeracy level.

These were the provincial averages:

Grade 3 Numeracy: 48,3%, Grade 3 Literacy: 54,9%

Grade 6 Numeracy: 24,4%, Grade 6 Literacy: 52,3%

I am certain that you join me in congratulating the boys and girls and the staff on these fine results, which are an indication that our academic standards are high and that effective teaching and learning happens at Westcott.
